About Our Doctors

All of our doctors are Licensed Clinical Psychologists with varied backgrounds. Each provider is a general practitioner treating such common diagnoses as anxiety and depression. However, most doctors also have specific areas of interest and expertise.
Tanisha Bracey, Psy.D.
Tanisha Bracey received her B.S. in Psychology from Howard University and her M.A. in Psychology from New York University. She completed her doctoral studies at Loyola University Maryland, where she received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. Much of Dr. Bracey's clinical work has focused on older children and adolescents across numerous settings including residential treatment, community mental health, juvenile detention, and intensive in-home treatment. She has also dedicated a large portion of her training and experience to conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations with youth and adolescents. Dr. Bracey's areas of clinical interest include mood disorders, behavioral disorders, identity development, trauma, and psychological assessment.

Jennie Crim, Psy.D.
Dr. Crim has over 25 years of experience working in private practice with clients with various issues, including numerous adjustment-related problems. She frequently works with clients with relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. Dr. Crim helps patients with stress, assertiveness, communication skills, and weight management. Dr. Crim believes therapy is a collaborative effort and is practical in her approach with clients. Dr. Crim is also a skilled hypnotherapist and biofeedback specialist. Furthermore, spirituality may be incorporated into the therapy process when requested. Dr. Crim treats older adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy.

Dr. Crim received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology (The College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Old Dominion University, in association with Norfolk State University).

Megan L. Davis, Psy.D.
Dr. Megan Davis is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, graduating from Elon University with a B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Exercise Sports Science prior to completing her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She completed her clinical internship at Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center at Joint Base Andrews, MD and served in the Air Force as an active duty Clinical Psychologist for 7 years.

Dr. Davis provides diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in individual, group, and family settings. She also conducts psychological testing and biofeedback training. Dr. Davis considers herself a generalist and has experience treating a variety of concerns with a range of evidenced-based modalities. Specific areas of expertise include concerns in the field of Behavioral Medicine/Clinical Health Psychology, such as stress, chronic pain, disease management, headaches, and sleep treatment. Other areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and trauma disorders including adjustment disorders, generalized and social anxiety, phobias, panic, persistent depressive disorder, major depressive disorders, peripartum or post-partum depression, complex trauma, and PTSD. Faith and spirituality can absolutely be integrated into treatment, if desired.

While her theoretical orientation is based primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she affirms that treatment is not a one size fits all experience and works to tailor treatment to the specific needs of the individual. She is particularly passionate about the military community and continuing to guide service members, veterans, and their families through the unique challenges of military lifestyle and experiences.

Dr. Davis believes wholeheartedly that the therapeutic relationship is the most crucial part of treatment and takes great care in earning the respect and trust of those she works with. She treats the therapeutic process as a collaborative effort towards shared goals and helps to structure treatment such that her patients see tangible outcomes in their lives. After all, who has the energy or time to invest in therapy and not see changes where it counts!?

Jack Kitaeff, Ph.D., J.D.
Dr. Jack Kitaeff is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia with over 35 years experience providing direct counseling, diagnostic and therapeutic services to adults, adolescents, couples and families. He is also an attorney. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Kitaeff served as a clinical psychologist and Major in the United States Army. He also has many years experience serving as a police psychologist for various Virginia Police and Sheriff Departments. Dr. Kitaeff has also served as the Director of Psychology for a major Virginia State Psychiatric Facility. He is an expert in treating depression, anxiety, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorders, and has extensive experience utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as behavioral modalities such as relaxation therapy and systematic desensitization. He has considerable experience working with military and police populations, as well as performing pre-employment psychological screening. He also has experience working with bariatric patients contemplating weight loss surgery. He is a Diplomate in Police Psychology from the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine.

Dr. Kitaeff obtained his BA degree in Psychology from the City University of New York, his MS in psychology from the State University of New York, and his PhD from the University of Mississippi. He completed an APA accredited clinical psychology internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He received his JD degree from the Antonin Scalia School of Law at George Mason University, and completed a legal externship at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.​

Jeanne Marquis, Ph.D.
Dr. Marquis provides individual psychotherapy services to adults (age 18 and over) for a variety of issues. These include depression, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, adult attention deficit disorder (ADD), adult children of alcoholics (ACOA), codependence issues and substance abuse. She also works with panic disorders, death and grief, health issues and mood disorders.​

Susan Murdock, Psy.D.
Dr. Murdock specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. She works very frequently with depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder (ADD). She is also well versed in treating adults with mood disorders and with divorce or separation issues.​

Mary Lou Rubert, Ph.D.
The sum of my experiences spans years as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice and 33 years in government service, including work at three different government settings, the Department of Defense (DOD), the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). At the CIA, Dr. Rubert served as an operational psychologist, Consultant, Program Manager and clinical assessment specialist conducting applicant job-fit interpretation of results, security processing and other types of evaluations.

In previous years, I was a pioneer Clinical Psychologist and threat assessment expert with the Witness Protection Program, President of a Board of Psychological Examiners and Coordinator of an APA approved Continuing Education Program. With a passion for healing others and placing great value on quality relationships, Dr. Rubert applies her expertise in best practices of assessment and evaluation, as well as in different types of therapies, to make a difference in the lives of others through empathic listening, understanding, validation, psychoeducation, and analytical interpretation.

David W. Ruxer, Ph.D.
Dr. Ruxer has a background in behavioral medicine and cognitive therapy with adolescents and adults in individual, group, and family therapy. Hypnosis and biofeedback are often provided for such issues as weight control, smoking cessation, phobias, sleep problems, headaches and stress management. Dr. Ruxer frequently works with workman's compensation cases and pain management as well.​

William S. Rybicki, Ph.D.
Dr. Rybicki is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a broad professional background. In his 35-year career, he has attained state licensure as a psychologist in Utah, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.  His work settings have consisted of university and college counseling centers, outpatient, and inpatient clinical programs and individual and group private practices.

He is committed to ethically-informed psychotherapy with adult clients where he believes open communication and collaboration are key ingredients for building a working relationship. Understanding feelings, clarifying conflicts, and making small constructive efforts to change are vital components for personal change. 

Dr. Rybicki works with a variety of clinical, relationship and social problems.  Clinical issues include addictions, anxiety, depression, PTSD and dissociation.  Relationship conflicts involve marital, separation and divorce issues, as well as emotional, physical and sexual abuse behaviors.  Social concerns encompass cancer recovery, disabilities, grief and mourning, men’s midlife and aging problems and sexual identity conflicts with LGBTQ adults

Dr. Rybicki earned his B.A. from Manhattan College, his M.A. from New York University and completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from an A.P.A. training program at the University of Utah.

Jon Howard Siegel, Ph.D.
Dr. Siegel is a licensed psychologist having worked in both clinical and forensic psychology for over 35 years. He provides individual and couples therapy for ages 18 and above. His approach is collaborative but direct, focusing on examining life choices and personal responsibility. Dr. Siegel works with affective (emotional) issues including depression, anxiety, and anger; couples (communication, intimacy, conflict and infidelity); life-span developmental and transitional concerns; adjustment issues and trauma.

Dr. Siegel received his B.A.in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. He also earned a degree in automotive mechanics from the Tel-Arza vocational school and later received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Alliant University-San Diego.

Alisa Simon Talkington, Psy.D.
Dr. Talkington is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with more than 25 years of experience assisting clients of all ages with a special focus on Veterans, first responders, and others experiencing the harmful effects of trauma. She has worked with clients struggling with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stressful life transitions, bipolar disorder, ASD, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, relationship concerns and more.  Her theoretical orientation is based primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Techniques utilized are drawn from a compliment of modalities with solution-oriented approaches depending on the challenges, preferences, and situation. Dr. Talkington offers a judgment-free environment with empathy, respect, dignity, and compassion.

Steven Tunick, Ph.D.
Dr. Tunick is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia with over 30 years of experience providing direct support to people ages 16 and up. He provides individual psychotherapy for a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and adjusting to significant life events and crises. He also provides couples therapy at all stages of relationships. 
 
Dr. Tunick takes an integrative approach to treatment. He utilizes cognitive-behavioral techniques in a humanistic, person-centered, collaborative environment, custom tailoring treatment to help empower the people with whom he works.
 
Dr. Tunick received his B.A. in psychology from West Virginia University and his M.A. and and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University. He completed his internship at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC.
